We are looking for collaborators to organise different kinds of activities at Cal Clown:
Activities for children, playful and/or educational, at weekends and during the summer.
Activities for adults, playful and/or therapeutic/healing and/or promoting issues of ecology/alternatives/new ways of living.
Activities for children and/or adults related to ecology and horticulture.
Festivals/conventions of Circus or Clowns or festivals/conventions on issues of healing/ecology/alternatives/new ways of living.
We are looking for people that are already giving courses about these issues, and want us to organise a course for them in Cal Clown.
And others that you may think of!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The activities can be either for profit or not. If for profit then the organiser of the event will earn a part of the income, to be agreed previously. If not for profit, if the event generates any kind of expense at Cal Clown, this should be covered by those participating in the event. 
Cal Clown needs to generate income in order to cover the expenses of the space, but we refuse to make money the only factor … it has never been so for us, so how could it be so now that a change of consciousness is so necessary?!!! And so we encourage you to send both kinds of proposals.
Cal Clown has space for accommodation in the house for 17 people, and enough outdoor space for plenty of people to camp. In addition, we have a beautiful circus tent of about 80m². We are right near the River Fluvià, half an hour from the beach and 15 minutes from Figueres.

THOSE INTERESTED should send us your ideas or specific proposals, and some information about yourselves, CV, aspirations, whatever you wish. If someone collaborates occasionally or regularly with Cal Clown, it is not necessary to live there (although if this were desirable or necessary for all, such a possibility might be discussed).

Cal Clown has always been at the service of people’s growth, from Joy and Love, because we are Clowns and that is what we do, but we need more people with different knowledge and skills, who likewise aim for the growth of consciousness and the healing of people. This is a magical space in which people can be away from the exterior world in order to grow, heal and regain their essence. We want more people to be able to enjoy this paradise, and we need your help to organise it!   

 

We are making our courses cheaper to make it easier for you to come, all we want is that there are more Clowns in the world! In these times its even more necessary that there are more beings of Light that radiate Love and Joy!´
                                                                                                                                                                      
Taking out our food service in the short courses we give the chance to the student to decide how much they want to spend on their food, and we can offer you cheaper courses!

WE HAVE 2 EXCHANGE OFFERS!

If you  want to do a CLOWN course, you can do in exchange for working in the future (5 days, the same as the course), if you have one of the following skills:
Knowledge of building, gardening/horticulture, or plumbing/electrician.

This is an exceptional offer because we usually offer the course only after working in exchange.
Please only apply for this option if you have one of these skills, there will be other exchange possibilities in the future. For these people there is also a second option:

To come as an exchange worker during the course in exchange for one of our 5-day courses.

In this case no special skills are necessary, just the desire to collaborate on the course and the will to work and make sure the students are looked after, and to commit to being 5 days at Cal Clown. the tasks are the general maintenance of the house, it would be an advantage if you can drive and have your own vehicle, but this is not indispensable.

From now on, you can book a few days, a week, a month or several months, in order to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Cal Clown, the welcoming house, the bright circus tent where you can be inspired ... Or witness the courses and the atmosphere they generate, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet of nature at your own rhythm, or absorb yourself in the fascinating library and video library that Cal Clown offers ... We are 10km away from Figueres and half hour from the Costa Brava, Cal Clown is ideal as a temporary residence to forget about our problems or to get to know the beautiful landscape of this area, the Alt Empordà!

Circus Tent
We offer our circus tent to individuals or companies who wish to come and spend from a day to a longer period of time rehearsing their shows.
The tranquillity around Cal Clown favours work, meditation and concentration, it’s the ideal place to get away from the noise of the city and its daily worries. You can have accommodation in the house or camp on the land if you have a vehicle or caravan. There is also the possibility of having your meals prepared for you during this time. The Escola de Clown de Barcelona offers a comprehensive clown training programme covering both practical and theoretical aspectsof the clown arts. We offer in-depth and wide-ranging training, given by teachers of varying approaches who are active professionals, working as performers, teachers, directors, and researchers.

 

Why study at Cal Clown?

  • Discovery of clown in depth. Every person, every student is unique and we make sure each student has the maximum opportunity to discover, understand and take advantage of what clown is for them.
  • Devising methods. There are few opportunities to learn in detail how to construct clown numbers. Our course is unique in its range and depth, combining theories of how clown and comedy work with a realistic and practical approach, seeking the personal comedy in each student.
  • Complete Training. We pride ourselves on having developed a training that is able to combine the intensely personal internal work of finding your own clown, with the practical business of making material that really works for audiences in a variety of contexts.
  • Performance Practice. We give students the maximum opportunities to try out their clowns in front of real audiences in different contexts. Combining work in class with real-life practice is the best way to learn to a professional standard.
  • Professional Training. Our aim is to prepare students for professional life. We expect you to leave the course with enough material to be able to begin to work professionally with your clown, and with your own criteria and the ability to keep creating independently in the future.  
  • Resources. A spacious tent, designed with clowns in mind in its dimensions (14m diameter, 9m high); props and costumes; a specialised library of books and DVDs, including many rare or difficult to find items.   
  • A unique life experience. The fact of living together with people that initially do not know each other but who have shared interests is, we believe, both an enriching experience and a challenge for the student, a challenge that we think is positive for anyone who wishes to live and know Clown.
